My Cebu Adventure: Good Time

I've been constantly reading perturbing tweets on how bad the rains gotten in Manila. Floods here, floods there.. I was beginning to feel quite apprehensive because our flight back was scheduled later that night. It wasn't even raining at all in Cebu!

I couldn't stop thanking God. We were extremely lucky that the bad weather didn't fly its way here during the race or while we were still here even. I know a lot of places are flooded and houses are destroyed yet again so my prayers go out to everyone!! #PrayforthePhilippines

Outfit of the day:

Pink top & Floral shorts: Forever 21 - Hat: Terranova - Reversible bikini: Nothing But Water
- Blue beads: Aldo Accessories - Flip flops: Havaianas

We decided to have Japanese for our last lunch here at Cebu. Kaishu, is just about 1km away from our hotel so it was really convenient. :)

My brother and I ordered Ebi Tempura and Yakisoba.

Dad got the Bento Box for only (P480.00)

Where you get Steak, California Maki, Chicken Teriyaki/Tempura, Fish, AND a scoop of ice cream. Pretty worth it, huh? :)

Our flight wasn't until 8:30, so we decided to go to the Ayala Mall. It was really nice! There seemed to be bigger park spaces. Wished our malls were like that!

When in the Ayala Mall, be sure to visit my candy shop! :)

...HAHAHA just kidding. Pretty cool to see my name in lights though!

Decided to have some dimsum for merienda (for all my foreign readers, it's no secret that we Filipinos love to eat. So merienda is like a light meal we like having before dinner).

I loved the colour combination! Felt refreshing, just like a watermelon. Hihi.

Got Gelatissimo, too! I love Veronese. :") It'll forever be my favourite in Gelatissimo. For all you who don't know what Veronese is, it's Ferrero Rocher flavored Gelato. :)

Did you guys know that Gelatissimo actually started in Cebu?

Guess who's back.. back again! True enough due to the weather condition, our flight got delayed.. THRICE. We decided to eat at Zubochon for our last meal in Cebu! Nothing better than their specialty lechon, right? :)

Funny how we had our first and last dinner in Cebu at Zubochon, more of that here.

Finally tried their Kamias shake! I always remember picking out all the Kamias at our old house. Drinking this shake made me real nostalgic.

Banana Turon with Dulce de Leche

All in all, a great long weekend spent at Cebu! One of the most memorable Ironman races, too. A post on that  very soon! So watch out for it. :")

Before I end this post, I'd like to share with you my favourite cover of 'Good Time' by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen. I absolutely love Alex Goot! + I think the girl in this video's real pretty. (lesbo moment right there HAHA)

My Cebu Adventure: A Drop in the Ocean

I apologize for the lack of creativity in my blog title. I always have such a hard time choosing I end up resorting to either stating pretty much the obvious or exceedingly corny ones.

Apologies aside, I'm guessing you know why I named it 'A Drop in the Ocean'. Today, my brother and I headed out to the beach. The sun was scintillating (explains my ever so chinky eyes) and it was quite breezy, so I took advantage and took a few shots. :)

Outfit of the day:

Halter dress: Taipei - Flip flops: Havaianas

Instantly fell in love with this dress because the colours reminded me of my 'Enchanted Desserts' my dessert business. :) More details on that here

Thankfully the beach isn't filled with these small rocks. The sand gets finer once you're nearer the ocean.

The game room I was talking about in my previous entry here

I'd kill to have a game room when I have my own place! Wouldn't you?

Spent the afternoon with Tita Pau, Kuya Anton, and Josh. :)

We aren't racing tomorrow so we decided to indulge ourselves with some pa-pa-ra-pa-pa Mcdo! Hihi. For all you twister fry lovers, their finally back. Woooo!!

I'd also kill to live by the beach! I love the feeling and serenity the beach gives me. I always feel like singing 'Hakuna Matata' because I seriously feel like the ocean washes away all my worries. :)

I know I'm not racing the Ironman 70.3 tomorrow but I'm getting pretty excited/nervous for all the triathletes. I do hope and pray everybody finishes at their goal time or who knows even better! 'Till tomorrow my lovelies. I gotta get up at 4 am tomorrow. -_- Bonne nuit! xx

My Cebu Adventure: Best Pig in Town!

I know Sinulog isn't 'till January, but Cebu is pretty packed with people now for the Ironman 70.3 race that's taking place here in Mactan on Sunday! My dad and uncle are both racing again, so the whole family came with to cheer and support The A-team! :)

Outfit for the day:

Chiffon top: Forever 21 - Denim shorts: Bayo (DIY pants I just cut off) - Accessories: Taipei
Sandals: H&M - Hat: Terranova - Bag: Gift

We flew to Cebu via (PAL) Philippine Airlines. It wasn't exactly the greatest flight. It was tremendously bumpy, while in the air up until landing.

We hurried over to Shangri-la Mactan to get my dad's race kit.

I swear, every year I watch all these people especially my family do triathlons and I say to myself 'One day, one day..." It is definitely part of my bucket list to finish at least one triathlon!

The dinner everybody's been waiting for the prominent.. Zubochon! Cebu's best lechon. :)

Claimed to be the BEST PIG... EVER! By Anthony Bourdain, renowned international food critic.

Zubochon Lechon

Small (1/2 kilo) P240.00 Large (1 kilo) P490.00

True enough, it did suffice to its motto. It was the crispiest lechon skin I've ever tasted! Cebu's lechon is known to be eaten without sauce. It's just THAT good. :)

Banana Turon with Dulce de Leche

Doesn't that just sound SO tempting? The Dulce de Leche was definitely a good addition to one of the filipinos all time favourite snack.

I highly recommend you try Zubochon when coming to Cebu! It was definitely the best pig I've ever tasted. :)

My Cebu Adventure: Cebu is the place to 'Be'

Today we arrived at Cebu just in time for the Ironman 70.3 race on Sunday. We checked into 'Be Resorts' hence my ever so corny blog title.

It's located at the heart of Mactan and very nearby Shangri-la Mactan (where the race is being held) so things are pretty much convenient.

The resort is beautiful. They have a game room, too! (Where I am blogging from now because it's the only place besides the lobby that shares free wi fi.) I've actually stayed here before but three years ago, it was named 'Microtel'. Nothing seems to have changed since then.

It's no surprise the resort lobby is filled with Kenneth Cobonpue interior, as he himself is a native in Cebu. I've mentioned him once before in my previous entry on Aria where you can read more of here.

Simple, yet beautifully innovative work by one of my favourite interior designers, Kenneth Cobonpue.

We got two rooms as we were traveling with baby for the first time.

The photo above is a photo of the room I share with my brother and the photo below is the other room they checked in to. Both really clean and comfortable. :)

Bolognese (P280.00)

Ordered by me, of course. It was good. Nothing exceptional about it.

Carbonara (P275.00)

Ordered by my brother. Honestly, I was quite jealous when it was handed to him because his looked more appetizing! Albeit sad to say, we were both disappointed as it was served cold. So he didn't really get to enjoy the dish.

Liempo (P380.00)

Steamed Fish in Sweet Ginger Soya (P280.00)

Meat Lover's Pizza (P375.00)

Under recommendation of the waiter. Upon receiving the pizza, we were quite disappointed as to how tiny the serving was compared to how much it cost. Taste wise, nothing great either.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's nothing wrong with the resort. I love its modern and stylish architecture, the calming feel I get whenever stepping inside our room and of course the beach front. Although, if ever you do plan on finding a place to eat.. I suggest you go else where because I won't promise any extraordinary experiences when eating here.

Hope you guys are safe and dry in Manila because the weather here is surprisingly not as bad. Fingers crossed for the days to come. :)
