Why I Live for Saturdays

When Pizza comes to mind, I instantly think New York. New York, where the pizzas are extremely delicous and served at large! Sadly, pizzas in Manila don't really suffice except this pizza joint I will be talking about today!

Last saturday I finally tried the most talked about pizza joint in Manila, Nolita and it was NO DISAPPOINTMENT whatsoever. They certainly did not scrimp on ingredients and left me going out a happy customer. :)

I loved everything about their pizzas! From the toppings to the crust itself. There was nothing left on our plates afterwards, not even the crust (and we usually hate the crusts) it was just THAT GOOD!

I was there for lunch at around 11:30 so not many people were there, but they're usually really packed during dinner so better go early.

Pesto grilled chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and the original cheese which were both so mouth-watering!

My personal favourite (so far), the Chicken Parmigiano pizza. Everything about it was yummy! The chicken was really filling that I almost couldn't finish my second pizza.

Pizzas at Nolita's don't come cheap. They're priced at about P200.00 + each but are 20-22 inches in size and are exceptionally yummy so it was definitely worth it for me.

I'm not a big fan of beer, but you might be! Check out their selection of imported beers.

They also serve pasta, burgers, and sandwiches apart from their best-selling pizza which I definitely will go back for soon!

Outfit for the day:

Tribal top: SM department store - High waisted shorts: F21 - Accessories: Taipei market - Wedges: Parisian - Bag: Hong Kong

Finally got to wear my owl bangle! Isn't it so cute? :)

Definitely the most comfy pair of wedges I own. I don't normally wear heels, but I lasted about 10 hours that day in them without feeling any pain.

A typical meal for us is never complete without dessert! So we went to Stella but were seated at Rocket Room because they were full.

They serve different flavours of Arce Dairy ice cream which just means... MANTECADO! Which is also known as "Manila Vanilla" :)

Four-Layer Red Velvet Cake. -- Was moist and yummy! Not too filling, everything was just right.

Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake. -- It was calling to us! HAHAH. This was really moist and flavorful too. I love anything salted caramel from macarons to ice cream flavours. :")

My weekend pig-out buddies. :)

I love all these restaurants! Check out my recent post on Mr. Jones here.

SPOTTED: Iona Mapa and Maui Uy at Jamba Juice.
EHEHE, love you guys!

Went to SnR with my mum to buy some goodies for another CANADA sleepover. :)

Met up with my friends at High Street afterwards to have dinner at Pancake House. Ordered their spaghetti. What's new? HAHA.

Meet my grade school buddies. :) Without even planning, our colours all formed the rainbow! Which I think is pretty cool. Don't you think?

They boys slept over again and we played Balderdash but with my mum this time! It was fun like all the other sleepovers we've had. HEHE.

So this is why I live for Saturdays! I get to eat all the yummy things, do the things I love and spend time with my favourite people in the world. :")

Snail Mail

It's often said that...
"Communication is key in any relationship."

A few weeks back, my friends and I were conversing about how we would've loved to live in 50's or 60's. Basically, the time of our grandparents. Why? Well, everything just seemed to be more simple back then. The internet wasn't invented yet and having a cellphone wasn't really a necessity.

Instead, people would find the need to write pages long of hand-written letters just to keep in touch. Something we all know as, snail mail.

I am one girl that loves memories. Bad or good, I always find myself reminiscing in the past.

The photo above you, is a letter I received for my sixteenth birthday. My friend was in Spain and couldn't attend my party so to make up for her absence, she so lovingly sent me a hand-written letter! (My absolute favourite kind.) I mean, store bought cards are good too but why buy one when you can make one?

I was utterly surprised when I got something in my mailbox! I never usually get anything in the mail because everyone just opts for the usual E-mail or Facebook inbox. So thank you, Sofia Gomez for reminding me how happy one can be after receiving a hand-written letter. :)

Just some of the photos I keep inside my box of memories.

I keep everything, really. Typed letters, silly doodles, get-well soon cards, birthday cards, holiday cards and anything of the like! :")

Check out all my other letters! I even have letters made by my classmates from Grade 5. So glad I kept them all.

When I feel sad and down, I sometimes find myself opening this box because it makes me feel really loved. I'm just so thankful that I have friends that never stop showing that.

Hope this post inspires you to start writing hand-written letters again! It only takes a few minutes of your time, a piece of paper and a pen to make somebody smile! :)

GO FOR IT!

I have a long list of things I want to do before I die. Which some of you may call, "The Bucket List"

This is my Bucket List notebook given by my best friend Iona.

One thing I want to do is to dye my hair with a hint of red. I'm not much of a rebel, so I don't really opt on dying my hair blonde, ever. Or shaving my head. So I went for red instead.

This is how it turned out! I know my blog name is entitled "alyventure" which is basically my nickname, Aly plus the word adventure... But I'm not gonna lie, I was very scared with how the out come would be.

Suede bag: Coach

Sandals: Forever 21

Belt: Babo, Rockwell

I loved this belt! I kind of have this obsession with bows, I have no idea why. So I bought it in different colors!

Tank: St. James Bazaar, Alabang - Caridgan: New Look, Singapore -
Bangles: The Ramp, Glorietta - Watch: Given by my grama.

So many tragic incidents have happened in the past few weeks and they just keep happening. Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones.

Life is undeniably short. So if there's something you want to do whether it is to dye your hair, to tell somebody that you like them, to learn how to speak a different language, to take a spontaneous trip to where ever. I suggest you just go for it! You'll never know when it will be your time to go. The worst thing is to regret not doing it. I mean, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Have a happy weekend ahead of you my readers and remember to always smile!! :)

Girls, never settle. Find your Micheal!

So this weekend, I finally decide to watch the movie that my brother and mum have been talking about for the past week or so. It's entitled "Sundays at Tiffany's". It's actually a novel turned movie.

I've never read anything written by James Patterson before but after watching this movie, I think I might just buy the copy of this book.

If you know me personally, I'm quite the hopeless romantic. As girly as it sounds, I love books and movies with happy endings and the like. Where boy meets girl, falls in love and lives happily ever after, that sappy stuff.

This movie is a romantic film about a girl named Jane Margaux and a man named Micheal, whom only Jane can see beyond the realms of her creative imagination.

Imaginary friends only keep their kids company for a few years and then promise to be forgotten, but Jane never forgot him.

More than 20 years after saying goodbye, Michael shows up. But this time not just as a fragment of Jane's imagination.

With Jane being engaged to an actor and having to work for her mother, everything was one big blur.

Watch how this fairytale unfolds and see if Jane gets her happy ending.

Here's the link of the trailer if you wanna check it out!

"Love is more than you imagine."
I loved everything about this movie! It may have been quite predictable at times, but it got me excited of what was to come next.

It's actually a very simple movie that covers a lot of themes that I love.
1.) When it comes to love, you should never settle.
2.) Never let go of the child with in you.
3.) It's not the grand things but the simple everyday things that matter.

Like I said in my title... Girls, never settle! Never think that you are not deserving of somebody that makes you happy. You may be in a relationship now and he could be the guy of your dreams, but if he isn't making you happy and you're just convincing yourself of that all the time; then honey, it isn't worth it. Don't give into peer pressure. I know it's easier said than done, but only you will know who's perfect for you. So just follow your heart. :)

And for you guys, you could learn a little something from Micheal too. ;)

Choices are inevitable in life; but always remember that the best choice isn't necessarily the right choice. <3

Have a happy week ahead of you, you guys!!
