Hard Core Fun

I apologize immensely for my week long hiatus. One thing you probably don't know about me, is that... I love to sleep!! I try to catch on sleep every afternoon and I try to get at least nine hours of sleep a day. But ever since I started blogging, my sleeping pattern was getting to be quite uncanny. Most nights, I wouldn't sleep 'till past twelve. And for those of you who know me well, I would always say "that's-way-passed-my-school-day-bedtime".

Thing about blogging is that I enjoy it, a lot. Albeit, for me to update my blog regularly, takes a lot of my time... and this month will be quite the busy one because I almost am graduating from Culinary School!! Wish me luck as it's only weeks until I take the Australian finals.

Regardless, a few of you have been asking what I do for my work out. Well, just two months back, I'd answer Planaforma. I loved it! The instructors were all pleasantly nice, plus I did feel the results quickly. (Only of course when I'd follow my strict diet plan.. Hehe.) Not only did I feel more toned (especially on my legs), it was fun because I knew quite a few people that took it as well... but then classes started getting really full and it would be hard for me to schedule an appointment, so I decided to try something I've been wanting to do since my tito's girlfriend, Iya told me about it.

It's called: Core Kinesis

So what is Core Kinesis? Core Kinesis is a cable and pulley system work out. It enables 360-degree movements as opposed to using customary gym machines that only allow lateral movements. This work out tones the body and improves flexibility.

The gym I go to is located at Legends Hotel. It's tiny! As you can see in the photo above. It can only take up to three students per session and more often than not, my mum and I have the gym all to ourselves so it feels like our private little gym.

When inquiring on Core Kinesis, I was a bit hesitant in joining as I was already enrolled in Planaforma and that work out in itself didn't come cheap. So I new I had to pick either this or that.

I was totally sold when my tito's instructor said: "Imagine that this is your own little gym. It's opened 24 hours! When you can't sleep at 2am and have the sudden urge to work-out, then all you have to do is text."

Obviously, I wouldn't be that crazy enough to text that late... but I love that it's definitely an option. Plus, as shallow as this sounds, I love that I can play my own iPod when working out. Music is so important to me. I wouldn't know what I'd do without it.

My tito's girlfriend, Iya, has been doing it religiously for months now and look how far she's gotten! Honestly, I know it's gonna take me quite long to see those results. Being an aspiring pastry chef and all, it's hard to veer away from all the sweets. -_- But she's definitely one person I look up to when it comes to fitness!

So here's to reaching my goal! Fingers crossed I actually stick to my diet this time. HEHEHE. So what're your goals? Comments are much loved below. I'd love to hear from you. :)

Bright & Tropical

The sun was shining out when I woke up that morning before leaving Manila for Tagaytay, so I decided to put together one colourful ensemble to match my euphoric mood. :)

Outfit for the day:

Top: Greenhills - Shorts: Urban Bazaar
Necklace: I V I  by one of my closest friends Mirabai Sebastian
Hat: SM - Bag: Taipei - Sandals: Forever 21

Fell in love with this bag when I saw it at the market because the colour was just so refreshing! Plus a big thanks to I V I for making a necklace that's undeniably me. :")

I was so excited when I bought these shorts at the Urban Bazaar because I've been wanting to get a similar pair from Zara a few weeks ago. These were waaaaay cheaper, so I was pretty happy.

I guess good things really do come to those who wait. :)

These sandals may be extremely plain, but I love the simplicity of it! It pairs well with any casual outfit I put on.

P.S. What do you think of my curly hair? Personally, I am just dying to perm it but I'm awfully scared it won't turn out as pretty as I imagine it to be like...

Comments are much loved down below if you have any place you know that perms hair well! Have a wonderful day lovelies. :)

The 'Suite' Life

Despite the depressing weather and recent floods, I'd have to say that the month of August is pretty awesome! Two long weekends? Just what I needed, really. So my mum decided to take a trip to Tagaytay (the nearest getaway from home). :)

When in Tagaytay, my favourite place to stay in is 'The Country Suites, Discovery'. It feels like such an authentic Bed 'n Breakfast place! Limited to only eight suites, it was definitely the perfect place for some relax and unwind.

We were welcomed with fresh watermelon juice. :)

The service at any Discovery establishment, never fails to leave to leave me smiling. Whether it be in Boracay or Tagaytay, the employees always serve you with a smile and answer back politely saying either "certainly" or "absolutely!" :)

We arrived a little later than lunch so we ordered quickly.

I ordered: Black Truffle Risotto with Crispy Soft Egg and Smoked Bacon

Truffle + Risotto + Bacon, something that was just perfect for me! I didn't even have to think twice when ordering this.  Thankfully, it didn't disappoint at all. Everything was cooked perfectly I left with a clean plate and a happy tummy. :)

Penne "al Telefono"
Tomato sauce, Mozzarella di Buffalo, Tagaytay Basil

My brother ordered this. It was good but it was nothing compared to our favourite in Cibo

Orecchiette "Pepperomata" with Goat Cheese
Tagaytay Bell Pepper Sauce with Spicy Pepperoni Sausage

My mum liked it, but enjoyed my Risotto more. ;)

Ordered Crepes Nutella with Roasted Banana and Hazelnut for dessert!

Apparently, the suite we got was the biggest of the eight. It was really cozy!

It even had a fire place. Perfect for the chilly Tagaytay weather that day! :)

The bathroom was HUGE. It was much bigger than the room I stayed in before.

Wrote on our goal books outside in the balcony. Check out the beautiful scenery! For all you guys who don't know, that's the Taal volcano, the smallest volcano in the world. :)

After our afternoon snooze and our Star Wars marathon, my mum and I went down for some wine and cheese. :)

Paprika and Parsley flavoured Cream Cheese Spread was real good! Followed by some Brie and Emmental cheese. Ohh, it was a lovely afternoon spent with my Nelly. :)

My mum and I call each other 'Nelly' -- Nels or Nellybean. T'was just a random nickname we decided to call each other.

Nelly bondings are never complete without playing a board game! Scrabble being our favourite one because we always try our hardest to beat our mum. She's like the Scrabble queen it's almost impossible to dethrone her!

HAHA check out what we ended up spelling... -_-

So when in Tagaytay, be sure to check out Country Suites at Discovery! You won't regret it. Despite the horrid internet connection, my stay was nothing but short and perfect.

How did your long weekend go? :)

Dengue Season

The weather in Manila has been so sporadic. One day it rains, the next day it's all sunny. Rainy seasons just means -- Dengue season...

A few days ago, my brother was checked into the hospital because he was said to be positive for Dengue. I've never gotten Dengue before, neither has anybody in my family. So I got really scared for reasons being that people do actually die from it. Thankfully, his case wasn't that bad.

His fever was intermittent. Apparently, it's worse when your fever goes down...

I will forever hate hospitals. Needles. Injections. Blood. AHHH.

I brought him a book I finished reading a few weeks back. It's quite a good read! Concise, and straight to the point. Really heart-warming, too. :)

I love that St. Lukes has such great food choices! From Bizu, Mary Grace, and Dairy Queen. :")

I always eat in those places, so I decided to try something new! Market on 5th Avenue, some what I guess like their cafeteria? :)

Surprisingly good Yema Cake!!

Ordered Tocino for dinner. Just what I was craving for! Thank god they have 'All-day breakfasts'.

Josh can't eat anything dark colored. So I guess these donuts are mine! WAHAHA.

*All photos taken from my iPhone*

Please pray for him. I really do hope that my brother gets better! My prayers go out to all those who have Dengue now, too. Hope everyone stays safe!
