GO FOR IT!

I have a long list of things I want to do before I die. Which some of you may call, "The Bucket List"

This is my Bucket List notebook given by my best friend Iona.

One thing I want to do is to dye my hair with a hint of red. I'm not much of a rebel, so I don't really opt on dying my hair blonde, ever. Or shaving my head. So I went for red instead.

This is how it turned out! I know my blog name is entitled "alyventure" which is basically my nickname, Aly plus the word adventure... But I'm not gonna lie, I was very scared with how the out come would be.

Suede bag: Coach

Sandals: Forever 21

Belt: Babo, Rockwell

I loved this belt! I kind of have this obsession with bows, I have no idea why. So I bought it in different colors!

Tank: St. James Bazaar, Alabang - Caridgan: New Look, Singapore -
Bangles: The Ramp, Glorietta - Watch: Given by my grama.

So many tragic incidents have happened in the past few weeks and they just keep happening. Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones.

Life is undeniably short. So if there's something you want to do whether it is to dye your hair, to tell somebody that you like them, to learn how to speak a different language, to take a spontaneous trip to where ever. I suggest you just go for it! You'll never know when it will be your time to go. The worst thing is to regret not doing it. I mean, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Have a happy weekend ahead of you my readers and remember to always smile!! :)

Born This Way Ball

So on May 22, 2012 I had the chance to watch Lady Gaga again for her second visit in the Philippines. Her tickets were incredibly pricy so I didn't even bother buying it. But thankfully, I got to experience the concert at the VISA PLATINUM SUITE at the new Mall Of Asia Arena for free. :)

Inside the VISA Platinum Suite Lounge.

Lady Gaga was really good live! It was my second time watching her, but this time around she was so much better! The set was amazing and her vocals were really good too. All in all such a great concert. :)
SUPER YUMMY FOOD!
My favorite were the risotto balls that had a cheesy surprise in the middle. :")

Me and my brother Josh after the concert.
Yes, we are wearing the same color.
This usually happens and we only find out once we're out of the house. Talk about Unagi!

Unagi: Total state of awareness.

It was no question why both her concerts were sold out.
The concert was amazing!

I felt like such a VIP thanks to VISA. The suites have separate entrances in the back so you won't have to worry about the crowd. The suites give out really yummy food and beverages. Everything is just so secluded in one box, you feel like you're having a private concert all to yourself.

The platinum suite will be used for VISA promotions and lucky card holders will have the chance to experience all the perks that come with it for future concerts and shows at the arena.

So what're you waiting for little monsters?
Use your VISA card now!
And if you aren't using VISA, I suggest you switch now. ;)

(Couldn't bring my camera inside so all photos were taken with my iPhone, so sorry if they're not as clear.)

Girls, never settle. Find your Micheal!

So this weekend, I finally decide to watch the movie that my brother and mum have been talking about for the past week or so. It's entitled "Sundays at Tiffany's". It's actually a novel turned movie.

I've never read anything written by James Patterson before but after watching this movie, I think I might just buy the copy of this book.

If you know me personally, I'm quite the hopeless romantic. As girly as it sounds, I love books and movies with happy endings and the like. Where boy meets girl, falls in love and lives happily ever after, that sappy stuff.

This movie is a romantic film about a girl named Jane Margaux and a man named Micheal, whom only Jane can see beyond the realms of her creative imagination.

Imaginary friends only keep their kids company for a few years and then promise to be forgotten, but Jane never forgot him.

More than 20 years after saying goodbye, Michael shows up. But this time not just as a fragment of Jane's imagination.

With Jane being engaged to an actor and having to work for her mother, everything was one big blur.

Watch how this fairytale unfolds and see if Jane gets her happy ending.

Here's the link of the trailer if you wanna check it out!

"Love is more than you imagine."
I loved everything about this movie! It may have been quite predictable at times, but it got me excited of what was to come next.

It's actually a very simple movie that covers a lot of themes that I love.
1.) When it comes to love, you should never settle.
2.) Never let go of the child with in you.
3.) It's not the grand things but the simple everyday things that matter.

Like I said in my title... Girls, never settle! Never think that you are not deserving of somebody that makes you happy. You may be in a relationship now and he could be the guy of your dreams, but if he isn't making you happy and you're just convincing yourself of that all the time; then honey, it isn't worth it. Don't give into peer pressure. I know it's easier said than done, but only you will know who's perfect for you. So just follow your heart. :)

And for you guys, you could learn a little something from Micheal too. ;)

Choices are inevitable in life; but always remember that the best choice isn't necessarily the right choice. <3

Have a happy week ahead of you, you guys!!

The Perfect Mother's Day

Antonio's, located at Tagaytay is one of the recommended destination spots if you're looking for great food, great ambiance, and just a wonderful experience all together.

It's been there for almost 10 years now and it was my first time coming. My mum's been there a number of times already and all the comments I heard about this place were good, so imagine how excited I was to go!

It is highly recommended that you make a reservation when visiting Antonio's. Mother's Day is said to be the most popular event/holiday in the Philippines. Even more popular than Christmas can you believe? So we made reservations a week in advanced.

Food there is quite pricy but you're definitely paying for quality food and a delightful experience.

This is the first room you see upon entering the beautiful house of Antonio.

I loved everything about the house! From the flooring, to the interior, and the rustic chandeliers. The house was tropical meets mediterranean that gave an old and spanish feel to it.

Meet my beautiful mother!

The yummy dalandan juice that came in a carafe.

I loved how their ice was made with the juice itself as well.

We were first served with Sauvignon Blanc.

We started off with the "Foie Gras Three Way Fresh Mesclun Salad" which consisted of greens dressed in raspberry vinegrette and shaved parmesan, White asparagus wrapped in cheese, and pan seared Foie Gras which is basically  made of goose or duck liver.

(I myself am not so adventurous when it comes to food, so I was quite scared to try it. But it turned out to be really yummy! It had a melt in your mouth feel to it. But the after taste felt so fatty I only ate half of it.)

We were served a cream based soup afterwards.

Then a scoop of watermelon flavored sorbet to cleanse the pallet for the up and coming meal.

Mashed potato with vegetable coulis was served in the shape of a duck,
 which I found really cute.

Then the meal that everybody was waiting for! The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak with shredded onion rings cooked to perfection.

I'm a big fan of steak and we usually have it cooked to medium rare and have some rock salt on the side. It's the best combination, really! I suggest you try it. :)

Chocolate pavlova with slivered almonds was the last of our Mother's Day special. It was really yummy! One of the best pavlova's I've tried. The meringue was cooked to perfection and it wasn't too sweet either. The serving was just the right amount.

The cute garden! Which sadly did not get to take photos in because it started to rain heavily.

My weekend pig-out buddies. :)

My outfit for the day:

Floral brooch: F21 - Cardigan: F21 - Ruffled tank: F21 - High waisted denim shorts: Zara - Chained quilted pouch:   Market in Hong Kong - Bangles: Bazaar - Shoes: H&M

If you haven't been to Antonio's, I highly recommend it! I will never forget my first experience and I'm already looking forward to going back. :)
